Journey Through the Senses Mini-Retreat Morning ~ Touch

Sue and Emma are back for the summer season with some fabulous new outdoor mini-retreats. These mini-retreat mornings begin with a physical yoga practice on the lawn, with meditations and breathwork too, after which there’s an opportunity to swim in the garden’s natural swimming pond and /or to explore the garden and find a quiet place to be before we come together for herbal teas and homemade cakes to round off the morning in community.

This year, we’ll be making a journey through the senses. Each mini-retreat can be taken as a stand alone experience, or as part of the series.

Our senses are the instruments through which we perceive and engage with the world. Information gathered from our senses help us learn and make more informed decisions, some of which we may not be wholly conscious of. We’ll be exploring each sense in turn, and what lessons we can learn from them, over the course of the summer months.

Our sense of touch is directly connected to our heart chakra and the element of air. Our physical practice this month will be focused on heart-opening (think gentle backbends) with meditations encouraging us to connect to the garden through what can be felt in the physical body. We’ll be encouraging bare feet on the lawn and exploring nature connection with our hands. After the formal practice, we’ll be encouraging you to stay awake to what can be felt by the body as you explore the garden (running long grasses between our fingers…), swim in the natural swimming pond (how does the water feel on skin?) and enjoy herbal tea and cake.

The cost of these sessions is £25, including cake and herbal tea.

NB: the mini-retreats are outdoor events, so weather dependent. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be rearranged and refunds offered to anyone who cannot make the revised date
